I’m currently a 2nd year sports journalism student at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, and hail from Aberystwyth, West Wales.

In May 2013, I was offered the position of Matchday Programme Editor at Welsh Premier League side Aberystwyth Town. Having been their Media Officer for the previous two seasons, this role was a perfect opportunity for me to continue working for the club.

In my position as Editor, I produce a 28 page Programme for each home game. Included in the Programme is, for example, articles from various contributors, general club news, interviews with players, and opposing team information.

In July 2013, I took over as Youth Team Reporter at ambitious League 2 side Fleetwood Town F.C. The role entails me writing match reports, taking photos, as well as interviewing both the manager and a key player after a game. These interviews are included on the clubs’ website and Matchday Programme.

This has led to my involvement with their first team, and a number of my reports have featured on their website and in the Matchday Programme, while I also provide live updates on the club’s official Twitter account during first team matches.

In addition to the above, I also work for Championship side Bolton Wanderers as a contributor to their Matchday Programme and have done since September 2013.

I write pieces on Bolton’s next opponents at the Reebok Stadium which appear in every issue, and this work involves meeting print deadlines on a regular basis as well as researching players, managers, fixtures, results, form and history.

I co-host Frequency Football, a show which airs on Sunday afternoons between 4-5pm on the University of Central Lancashire’s radio station.

I’m joined by two other coursemates where we review the weekend’s footballing action, concentrating mainly on the English Premiership, as well as the Football League.

Away from football, I work for Split Decision MMA UK where I take official photographs of all amateur events in the North West region, as well as filming on camera interviews with fighters and coaches after each bout.

I hope you enjoy the website,

All the best

James
